Chocolate Pixies
1/4 c butter
4 oz unsweetened chocolate
2 c all-purpose flour
2 c sugar
4 eggs
2 t baking powder 
1/2 t salt
1/2 c chopped walnuts
Powdered sugar
 
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In a small saucepan over low heat melt butter and chocolate; stir to blend. Cool. In large bowl, beat chocolate mixture, 1 c flour, granulated sugar, eggs, baking powder and salt until well mixed. Stir in remaining flour and nuts. Cover and refrigerate till firm, 2 hours or overnight. Shape teaspoonfuls of dough into 1" balls, roll into powdered sugar. Place 2" apart on greased cookie sheets. Bake 12-15 minutes till firm to touch. Remove to wire racks to cool.

Time: 1 hour   Makes: 4 dozen

These have been my favorite cookie for as long as I can remember. I usually make a double batch and freeze one. The only take 30 minutes to defrost and they work in a pinch when you want a cookie but don't feel like baking.
