Chocolate Jumbos
1 c sugar
1 c molasses
1 c softened butter 
1/2 c hot water
6 heaping T cocoa 
2 t baking soda 
1 t cinnamon
1 t cloves 
1/2 t allspice
2 eggs
3 to 4 1/2 c flour
Vanilla frosting (homemade or jar)

Blend the sugar, butter and eggs. Add the molasses. In a smal mixing bowl add the baking soda and cocoa to the hot water. When the cocoa mixture is dissolved, add it and the spices to the butter mixture and stir. Add the flour 1/2 cup at a time. When the dough is not longer sticky, it has enough flour. Roll the dough into balls, wrap in plastic wrap and chill for a few hours. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Roll out the dough to 1/4". Cut with cookie cutters or biscuit circles and bake about 5 minutes or till the tops are cracked. Cool completely and frost with vanilla frosting.

Time: 4 hours   Makes: 4 dozen

These are my youngest brother's favorite cookie.
