Frosted Chocolate Cookies

Cookie:

1/2 c butter, softened
1 c packed brown sugar
1/2 t baking soda
1/4 t salt
1 egg
1 t vanilla
2 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
8 oz sour cream
2 c flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl beat butter for 30 seconds. Add brown sugar, baking soda and salt. Beat till combined. Add egg and vanilla. Beat. Add melted chocolate and beat till combined. Beat in sour cream and flour.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes till edges are firm. Transfer to wire racks to cool. Frost. Keep at room temperature till frosting is firm.

Frosting:

1/4 c butter, softened
2 1/2 c powdered sugar, sifted
1/3 c unsweetened cocoa powder
3 T milk
1 t vanilla

Beat butter till fluffy. Gradually add 1 c powdered sugar and the cocoa powder. Add milk an vanilla and beat. Gradually add the remaining 1 1/2 c powdered sugar and beat. Add additional milk if the frosting is too stiff.
